Main Idea
The Wiffle Ball League. I want to say this would be informative for a lot of people since not many know about it. I also feel this could be entertaining as it is not a very boring topic and I could likely capture the audience's attention pretty quickly with some of the video I have of pitchers throwing ridiculous moving pitches at high rates of speed. This league is pitching dominant, but the players in this league are no slouches. I could get an interview with arguably one of the best wiffle hitters in the country. This league is vastyly growing. It started as an 8 team league in Massachusetts that now has 15 teams, but also has leagues formed in New York, Pennsylvania, and California. Cash prizes and championships held in Las Vegas.
Project Ideas
1. Professional Wiffle ball league. I'm not positive what angle I would take other than that it's something not many people have heard of. I mean how many people actually know there are people playing fast pitch wiffle ball all around the country and can throw in the 80mph range. I know a lot of the players and guys who run the league so interviews, pics, and video should not be all that difficult to attain. Again just looking for an angle.
2. Rick Reilly wrote a book about the worst golf course in America and the people who play their on a daily basis without fail. The book was titled Missing Links and is loosely based on the gold course I work at in Canton, MA: Ponkapoag Golf Course. Again interviews and stills likely wouldn't be too difficult, I am just unsure of how I would attain some video and what I would video tape.
3. Still haven't come up with a third idea, but I could probably try and do something more closely related to Durham and UNH in general. Maybe there will be an event in the coming days that I would like to cover that is also newsworthy and lends itself to multimedia.
